I tried to buy a EN40P today and was told it was nolonger for sale as it has hand some problems and they have halted sales till the issue is fixed.

Any one know what the problem as or a replacement that has the dry contacts for wiser energy monitoring. AMP has a 64A one but very expensive.

I was told the same thing about the EN40P.

We're using a Hager EC051 and it seems to be working a treat. Only 32A but also only $184.

    Cheers

I was chasing down the EN40P today too and was told that it's currently unavailable - can anyone confirm whether the Schneider Electic's ME1zr will do the same job and connect to a CBUS bus coupler or AUX input (all be it a a higher price).

What's the difference between a relay and static output?

    ME1zr
Single-phase kilowatt-hour meter with partial meter and remote transfer of metering impulses (relay output).

    EN40p
40 A single-phase kilowatt-hour meter with remote transfer of metering impulses (static output).

Looks like the ME1r only has one pulse every kWh whereas the EN40p has 100 pulses every kWh... not a good substitute. I'll see what i can find out about why the EN40 is no longer available

is the ABB OD1065 1000 imp/kwh 40ms pulse width going to be too many pulses then and cause cbus traffic problems ? what is the pulse width of the EN40

This ABB looked good unit as the current rating was high

looking at the literature the pulse width of the EN40 is 100 pulses of 120ms per KWh

    Doing the Maths ABB OD1065

    Doing the Maths ABB OD1065 Max 65A 65x230 = 14950W say 15kwh

this is 1000 pulses per kwh so 15000 pulses per hour

    which is 250 per minute

    which is 4.1 per second.

This does not sound like a good thing for Cbus traffic going on and off 4 times a second

So I would assume this Meter is not a good one for WISER energy management ?

Also is the pulse width of 40ms OK or do you just fiddle with the debounce setting in the L5504AUX

The EN40 seem perfect.. 120ms pulse width and at 40A gives a pulse every 4 seconds which is cbus friendly.

    Schneider need a replacement.

    "New product suggestion"
65A KWh meter with included bus coupler inside so all you do is connect to cbus cable in the switch board

Agree. You're chewing up a big chunk of bandwidth doing it. Your calculation is also based on average energy consumption, whereas the power consumption of a house is very unevenly distributed through a day, so you're going to get times of day where you might be sending 30 or 40 messages per second, where the bus will run out of bandwidth.
You would need to reduce the debounce interval on the aux input unit to less than 40ms.

Looks like the best replacement is the Hager EC051

    100 pulses per k/Wh
    Pulse duration 900ms

    But only 32A.

    EN40P availability

I've done some checking on the unavailability of the EN40P. Seems this unit is currently unavailable due to a quality issue. It has not been withdrawn from sale. Unfortunately, I don't have a date when it will be back on the shelves.

As soon as I hear something, I'll post a note

Hmm, interesting idea for a development project with the lil' CBUS proto-modules. A high speed pulse counter that can provide a tailored output rate.
