    Hi guys,

I am in the need of finding something that will provide me with 30 DIN rails to mount all the CBUS, RCD and MCB units into. I have looked at a number of suppliers / manufacturers but not coming up with anything viable at the moment. Can anyone point me to the right direction of something useful please

    Regards
    Arthur

Do you mean 30 rails or a number of rails with a total capacity of 30 modules?

What is the total module capacity required?

Clipsal make flush mounting plastic switchboards:-
    1 rail 15 modules 4FCC15
    2 rail 30 modules 4FCC30
    3 rail 45 modules 4FCC45
    4 rail 60 modules 4FCC60

    Thanks for the reply.

I need to mount 18 dimmers and relays plus all the RCDs and MCBs for the setup. I have tried the flush mount units but they become very tight and start to bulge with too many cables. My preference would be for either a floor mounted cabinet or a number of wall mounted units preferably metal.

    Regards

If you have issues with cable management caused by too many groups of lights I can recommend the Wago wiring system.

Usually the industrial suppliers like NHP carry them in stock. I am not even certain if they would help you or not but the ability to splice many common polarities to one block and manage the wiring would make your cabinets much cleaner and reduce the dreaded bulge. Usually one row of RCD + cable management is sufficient for 4 DIN rail C-Bus units.

I also use OVP (over-voltage protection) and lightning diversion in conjunction with C-Bus.

Typically in a 15DIN row I would install one C-Bus module (full size), an MBC (for isolation) and an OVP (for protection).

I leave a centrally located or top row DIN rail for the bulk of the cable management. Then I use a ferrel-ended cable (aglets ??) and place one wire from the C-bus module to the Wago block with the lighting loads. This eliminates the clutter of trying to load so many wires so close to the C-bus module.

Try the Hager B&R Infinity range or most switchboard manufactures can custom something to suit.

    Nathan,

Perfect thats what I am looking for.

Two of the MG260BR units fully decked out with MG722D will give me 36 DIN rails by my calculations. More than enough room to mount 18 CBUS units and all the RCD and MCBs associated with the install.

Not the cheapest solution but I will get trade prices on Monday. Do you know who distributes them ie Rexel, AWM etc

    Regards
    Arthur

    Most
Electrical Wholesalers will be able to supply them.
    CNW, Cetnaj, J RTurks
There are options for neutral links supplied or not that reduces the cost.
They are a great board to work on plenty of room and simple to install plus removing covers to get access takes seconds.
You can print lables to go over/around the cbus units that make the whole job very professional. Email me if you want a label template.
    Cheers
