Copy the project and use Toolkit 1.8 to delete the units you don't want.

Toolkit 1.8 lets you select multiple units (finally, HOORAY) and press DELETE key to remove them, its almost instant, unlike previous releases where you could only do 1 unit at a time and it was slow.

This is better than hacking the XML, because the XML is prone to change without notice, and if you make a mistake you might not know what, why or where, you will just see C-gate or toolkit crash, or maybe even both of them.

Doing it inside the application is preferable.

Agreed, but on the other hand the XML I can automate (eg give them something they run on the head end, enter the serial number of the unit they're replacing, and have it create the project for them). Since Toolkit won't get upgraded unless I do it, that variable is at least under my control!

It's a good argument for making sure that I give them a separate PC for programming the units though, so crashing C-Gate/Toolkit just means a phone call to me because they can't program the unit, not because they've shut down the whole system!

I'll give Toolkit 1.8 a try, but at the moment the display of groups in numerical order would cause me a major problem so I'm really holding back on that for now. Looks like some nice improvements aside from that though!
