i have an existing customer who decided to replace his standard globes with eco mini fluro lamps
obviously the dimmers dont work with these lamps but even the lamps on the relay units glow in the dark
i have changed the lamps back to normal globes but what is going to happen once we cant get the lamps anymore
    is there a quick fix

C-Bus DIN Relay units use voltage free contacts, so if they still glow slightly after turning off then either the phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp used is continuing to phosphoresce or there is a wiring fault somewhere. With a C-Bus DIN relay the electrical behaviour should be identical to a standard electro-mechanical light switch.

The incandescent technology hasn't been banned outright, rather that the minimum required energy efficiency of lightbulbs has been raised to just above the efficiency level that incandescent light bulbs operate at. Halogen based light bulbs still have an efficiency above this threshold so I'd expect to see a growing prevalence of this sort of lamp, which has 100% compatibility with existing dimming technologies: http://www.osram.com.au/osram_au/Co...VER/HALOGEN_ENERGY_SAVER_Classic_A/index.html

Incidentally, my local supermarket has those halogen lamps going for $1.89 each (on the weekly special), so they are quite affordable and claim to have a life of > 2x a standard incandescent.
