I am looking at buying some bits and pieces to experiment with at home.

Basically I am just looking for confirmation of these parts and their functionality before i buy them.

I want to muck around with a single room first.

I will need control of a ceiling fan, 4x 50w LV Halgoen downlights with electronic transformers (trailing edge dimmable) and few devices (TV, AV Receiver etc)

So for input i was thinking:

    1x 5031NMMIRL
    1x 5038TX2

    For control:

1x L5504D2U (Can i get a smaller dimmer, single channel maybe?)
1x L5504RVFP (I will use the extra relays to control power to GPO's etc)
1x L5501RFCP (For the ceiling fan)

Will those components alone be enough to get started?

My aim is to then interface this (when i have the spare cash) to commandfusion gear allowing me to easily build mobile interfaces to operate the cbus.

    Disclaimer and background:
I have wired and installed 3 complete houses with CBUS systems, I also maintain several buildings with dynalite systems installed. I had an integrator assist (and teach) me in the design and programming of the CBUS systems. This was some 4 years ago now.

I am on the path to get official training this year and work my way up to integrator status. I am a qualified electrician and security installer and in my off time i play around with arduino and raspberry pi. So hardware integration, and electronics, and programming come fairly easily to me as i enjoy it a-lot.

The inhouse training take home pack comes with:

    8 Button Neo
    Neo DLT

    4Chan Dimmer
    USB interface

TBH there isn't much you can't replicate with that.

The inhouse training uses a bit more:
    1 Gang
    2 Gang
    4 Gang
    8 Gang
    DLT
    8 Ch Dimmer
    12 Ch Relay
    USB Interface
    Light Sensor

If this is a proper install for your house as opposed to a test bench, then get what you want to control only. Dont forget the USB programing interface or a CNI to get the program onto the system.
