    Hi all
We?re working on several projects today that will use Philips MASTER LED - 7w GU10, a retrofit lamp replacing 50w dicroic lamp
Philips has tested several Clipsal dimmers like the E32V500 and E1031VE400 and included those products in the dimmer list suitable for MASTERLED operation.

I tried to find electrical specifications of the E32V500 and E1031VE400 but failed. Are these dimmers leading or trailing edge?
Any help will be more than appreciated.

    Thks

    Daniel

The E32V500 is a relatively basic leading edge dimmer. It is rated at 500W when used with Incandescent lamps.

The E1031VE400 is also a leading-edge dimmer but, as far as I'm able to determine, it's only sold in China.

Given the long list of compatible dimmers, it would be worth testing those Philips LED lamps on a locally-available leading-edge dimmer. Chances are it will work.

Regular 50W downlights, or the 35W or 50W IRC downlights are about 900 - 1200 lumens. Those Philips GU10's are only 250lm or 290lm, so be prepared to put a lot more of them in, which will negate some of the energy savings.

    Thanks a lot Newman
    I really appreciate your help.

The retrofit project does take on account such lumen differences as you noted, and the lighting engineers already adjusted the number of lamps.

    Thanks again

The E1031VE400 is rated at 400W on incandescent lamps. Forgot to mention that earlier.
