Hi There!

Can someone please give me an idiots guide to HomeGate. I've seen all the literature on the platform, but am still in the dark as to it's capabilities, integration possibilities, look and feel and any draw backs you might add.

This is what I already know : please feel free to correct me;

It's for sale with a dongle and the new version is 4.0. It is similar in some ways to PICED, where I can program the user interface pretty much as with a Touch Panel, but to be used with a PC, in wall Touch Panel PC etc. (Am I right that it's touch compatible?) I can add an IP window to run IP from my server PC like Windows Media Centre (without having to use the Windows Media Player control plug in) and design my entire user interface from scratch using hi res jpegs etc.

Right so I can also do off site monitoring and control via the net. I can get status on loads, scenes etc and I can fire IR codes that reside on a Nirt plate. I can also set up client edit capabilities - nice one!

How about RS232 control of 3rd party AV equipment (here I'll be using the Axium 452 Av controller).

What else can I do or back engineer it to do - right up to but excluding launching a rocket... ... in your opinion.

I'm approaching this from a perspective of 'No question is a stupid question'
