    Hi,

I'm just wondering if there will ever be HomeGate running on Linux?

    Officially, no.

But if you want to load WINE and run it on that you might get a pleasant surprise :)

Wine is pretty advanced these days and runs a heck of a lot of things.

    Linux for Homegate

I know this question has been asked before but software
    is constantly evolving.
Is anyone successfully running Homegate on Linux?
I must say I have never heard of Wine.

    Wine
    Is
    Not an
    Emulator

    actually it is

lets u run windoze apps in linux and they probably run better.
    Its available everywhere.

This stuff would be great ported to linux, eg how much of the touchscreen price
    covers the NT4 license?

I'm not at liberty to say how much of the TS price includes Windoze. But as a percentage I can tell you it is well under (well well under) 4% of the retail price.

I have run Homegate on linux using Wine. There were not many wrinkles last I tried but I also did not run it for a heck of a long time.

Porting is simply not possible for all sorts of complex boring reasons.
