    Hello guys,

I have C-bus controlling my home lights, heater, shades etc..
Is it possible using PAC + Linux device (ex. RPi) to remote control C-bus?
Or PAC is not enough to complete this task.. and if so, which hardware is necessary?

    Thanks alot,
    -Nate

The serial ports on the PAC are for interfacing to 3rd party devices and are only accessible via logic. They are not Cbus interface ports like a PCI or CNI. So you could hook the Linux system up to a serial port on the PAC, but you would have to write some logic to interpret whatever commands you sent from the Linux box and then issue the appropriate Cbus commands via logic. The complexity of this depends on what CBus functionality you require.

If you want comprehensive control you are better of connecting the Linux box via a PCI (or CNI) and using the Clipsal supplied driver. If you search the forums you will find various posts of others that have successfully accomplished this.

    Hi Ashley,

In that case I will connect to PAC by the USB cable.
What linux application can I use to send logic commands to that PAC interface?

You misunderstand what Ashley has said.

You need to interface via a PCI or CNI, that is the correct way to do it.
