How to become C bus AI

Hi I have recently completed my first C-bus install. I have being trying to organize a inspection but finding it near impossible. Clipsal in the ACT are very hard to get a hold of I don't even know who the rep is anymore. I have a few photos of pre-wire and fit off, I have attached a couple below. The house has a full clipsal lighting system, Integrated with HAMFIELD TRANSLINK, 1 color touch screen, and all in-house music and full home theater is controlled via crestron prodigy. Can any one help cheers Adam..

I would suggest you keep trying to contact your CIS rep, who is based out of Sydney.. Email or phone calls tend to be the best way.. Alternatively if you are finding it difficult to get in touch with him you could try the Canberra Sales Manager.. I believe you have both of these contacts details already..

I've got to say i've never understood why all of the c-bus modules seem to be centralised. Seems like you end up with extra long runs of 240V cable running through the house.

Do people do distributed switchboards throughout an installation to reduce cable runs?

Yes people do distribute CBus switchboards around installations.

The length of cable runs and just finding the space to fit the boards are good reasons to do so.

 

Whew! Someone I know has a large c-bus installation which, as far as I can tell, is centralised. Didn't make much sense to me.

Did you ever get Clipsal to come out to look at your job to put towards getting cbus installer certification?

I am hearing others are having this issue also.

 

Yeah mate, I had a guy Adrian come out. All went well and I was told to complete another job to become AI. I was since in touch with the Clipsal ACT rep, with another project. He was hard to get onto the first time, and now I cant get in contact with him. (cant get intouch) I have now given up ...
