These devices do not connect directly to a PC. All C-Bus devices communicate with each other over the pink C-Bus cable. This pink data cable cannot be directly connected to a computer; you require an interface that links the C-Bus network to a communication port on your computer.

If you wish to connect your C-Bus devices to a PC you will need one of the following additional devices:

    • 5500PC RS-232 PC Interface
    • 5500PCU USB PC Interface
    • 5500CN Ethernet Interface
    • 5200PC C-Bus Wiser
Basic functionality can be achieved without a computer by using the push-button programming mode of the units, called Learn Mode, however there is a lot more functionality available when the devices are programmed using a PC.
