    DANGER DANGER

DO NOT plug a Concept Alarm system into the DB9 connector of a 5100TAU C-Bus Telephone Interface (to try and use the 5100TAU as a regular C-Bus PCI)!

The Concept systems change the C-Bus PCI baud rate from 9600 bits/sec to 1200 bits/sec.

The 5100TAU has an embedded PCI, but it has another processor in between. The result of plugging a Concept system into a 5100TAU is that the 5100TAU is rendered useless - the Concept won't talk through it and nor will anything else.

CIS can repair the settings, and plan on having a downloadable method of making the same fix - if all goes well its a week or two away.

The repair will just restore the settings so the unit operates again - it will not make it compatible with a Concept Alarm system. So....

    DONT DO IT!

Concept sending C-Bus PCI into economy mode

Also for people using concept and then ringing CIS to obtain the "magic" unlock codes to reset their PCI back to 9600BPS.

It won't happen, due to it being a protocol issue, the info will not be supplied.

    ON A LIGHTER NOTE:
Download the C-Bus Diagnostic Utility from the CIS website...
    http://www.clipsal.com/cis/downloads.php3

It enables you to "Set PC Interface Modes".
