Just letting anyone know that the HP laptop Compaq nx6120 with serial port on board does not work with circa and the Nirt. Works with PCI and B&W touch screens
Can anyone tell me a card that works with the current circa software?

We use and recommend Quatech PCMCIA serial cards for programming the Nirt with laptops. This is what I use for development and it is rock solid.

    card I use: http://www.quatech.com/catalog/rs232_pcmcia.php (SSP-100)
    Aussie Distributor: http://www.ieci.com.au/products/Product_Page2.asp?Product_ID=86

We also know that this is a pain in the, ummmhow did you say it, #$%. We are developing a replacement programming cable that resolves these issues. I can't say when this new cable will be available.

yes, unfortunately C-Gate doesn't seem to like it.

Oh, I hope so.... the new cable is soooo much better. The engineering is basically complete and we are just waiting for the manufacturing and distribution side I beleive.

It is progressing well. Was playing with the first trial prodcution units earlier this week. Expected to be available for supply before Christmas, hopefully sooner. (Although I have no control over that timeline so don't hold me to it).

    no further info

    Guys sorry to say but,

when a product is being released from CIS to customers,
can only typically be sourced from either "don brooks" or "ron ghezzi".

whilst testing may have reached a specific point there may be other
issues we are not aware of.

any of the rest of us CIS staff refer to the 2 previously mentioned gents for expected release dates.

A copy of this forum thread has been sent to both of them for their information and follow up.
