I am just starting out learning how to use CBus and i have been tasked with removing a Clipsal HomeMinder system from a network and using just interfacing from an alarm system to control the lights from CBus.

I would appreciate it greatly if anyone had any ideas how to go about this.

From what i can guess you would wire some voltage free contacts from the alarm panel to change state when you wish for the lights to switch on. The lights would be linked to an area in CBus then to a contact.

Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.

If you have not got the alarm panel have a look at the Ness M1 with a C-Bus interface. There is a V2 version C-Bus interface due very soon to resolve a few issues so wait for that one. http://www.ness.com.au/m1/index.htm
