    Hi all,

I want to direct the output of my NIRT into a Xantech IR receiver connected to my ZPR68 so that CBUS can blast IR through the house via my Xantech IR network. I know I could tape together an emitter and a receiver but I was looking for a more elegant solution.

From a quick browse I think it would be bad to hard wire them directly together with 3.5mm plugs. I believe I need a little circuit in the middle to 'opto-isolate' them from each other. There used to be a product called IR-Linc which looked like it would have done the job but it doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Has anyone done this and can send me in the right direction, or am I getting out the electrical tape?

    Thanks,
    Brad.

    Hi Brad

Yes i think its a good idea to opto isolate the cbus ir since its connected to the cbus network from the xantech kit .....I have a little pc which i use to isolate my cbus ir from my Homevision HA Controller.....You could make a single channel version of this on veroboard quite easily........
