I am wanting to develop an iPhone/iPad Application for C-Bus at a much cheaper price then the other alternatives (maybe $4.99) but was wondering is it possible to control the CNI via the browser like 192.168.1.xxx/something . Does anyone know those details?

Pretty hard to develop a app cheaper than the official clipsal ones which are free..

As for your question I personally am unsure, but i highly doubt it can do it out of the box..

Perhaps you should looke at the Wiser product which will give you what you want but again, why bother when the clipsal option is free..

    Cheers..

You can't just open a browser connection to the CNI and control it. You would need to open a TCP/IP socket connection to the CNI and send the appropriate messages to it.

You can get a copy of the C-Bus protocol documentation, but it is much easier to just use the C-Bus Module code which is available on source forge.

Indeed you are correct but what you are looking at doing, ie developing an app to sell cheaper will require a CNI anyway.. So com si com sa as they say..

I will acknowledge that a CNI trades for $550 ex gst which is half that of the wiser at $1085 but i would argue that it is much less than half the product in features and usability.. ANd most of the work is done for you..

But then again its always fun to try to re-invent the wheel..

    Cheers..
