ip camers

hi ,im looking for recomendation for an external ip camera for monitoring front gate that will be both monitored on colour touch and tv system .

There's plenty of information on the forum about this. If you want to display on a TV then you can use any camera with video out function, there are so many choices to be had. Do you want night IR capability? do you want PTZ capability? Once you have decided on your camera, to get it on to CTC you need to convert the analog video out from the camera to IP. For this you will need a video server that supports MJPEG. Then using the webcam component of PICED you enter the relevant URL of the server, download this to the CTC, and then the video feed from the analog camera will come to the CTC from the server over the LAN as individual frames that get refreshed once every second or so. It works a treat, but best to ensure the video server has a static IP otherwise if it's on DHCP and the DHCP server gets rebooted it might end up with a different IP, in which case the CTC won't be able to find it at the IP given in the webcam component.

had been looking at various threads and was looking for camera for front gate external location no need for ptz ,have been talking to axis communications who have given me relevant specs which they say work well with cbus.
