Have been testing pretty thoroughly for last hour or so..

Crashes occur mostly when connect to wifi, occasionally on 3g, when it connects..

When connecting via 3g it is very very slow and regularly fails.. Also when it prompts u saying u are about to use 3g or u can abort there is no abort button..

Settings are identical to original wiser app which runs smoothly..

    Cheers..

Currently sitting in the office in iPhone 4 (OS 5.1.1) full wifi (about 1m from Router) connecting to a client's site using dyndns.

Wiser app (1.3.0) connected via WAN pretty much straight away

Wiser HD app (1.0.0) says "Connecting to WAN using WiFi" and "Connecting Wiser" then times out and gives "Error. Your Wiser is not reachable. Please verify your Url or IP."

I've copied and pasted the WAN address from the Wiser Settings into the Wiser HD Settings so there should be no difference.

Just a quick note, could you try with the IP (rather than the dyndns name, you'd want to do something like nslookup myhome.dyndns.org and enter that IP).

I'm now standing out the front of the client's house using 3G on the phone and without changing any settings, i opened the app again and it connected straight away. I then opened the standard app and it connected, then trying to connect again with the HD app, it keeps failing. Even if i shut the app down completely.

Changed both apps to public IP Address and successfully connected ~5 times in a row with HD.

Changed back to dyndns address, connected successfully the first time. Then wasn't able to connect anymore....

iPhone app is fine, but iPad app can't connect with WAN

Hi, using the exact settings for the iPhone app for the WAN connection, I cannot connect with either the previous or the new iPad app.

If I use the Hostname or the IP directly, it seems I have the following:
1- if the Hostname or address is correct without specifying a port, the application waits a few seconds and instead of the widget view, it drops out and goes back to the OS view
2- if I specify a port such as 8888 I get a regular timeout message. This port is obviously not the correct setting.

However when using LAN, all is fine and the app is great (except the power usage screen doesn't seem to exist- does this require a device installed?)

Any thoughts? As I mentioned, the previous shared app had the same issues.

    Hey saintjerome..

Sounds like your port forwarding is not setup correctly to allow remote access to the wiser..

You need the 5504CMU current measurement unit and CT's installed plus programmed for it to display in wiser..

    Cheers..

    iPad App Settings

As per my original message, the port forwarding is working correctly on PC app and iPhone app and hence it should work on the iPad App.

There appears to be something wrong or different with the iPad App settings as far as I can see.

Thanks. It is the latest iPad 3.

It seems that when settings are correct, the app dies on successful WAN connection. This is latest version of iOS also.
