I was wondering if anyone can confirm my assumption. I was considering purchasing 16 of CoolAutomation CoolMaster units to integrate in a building with C-Bus on every floor.

They say that they are supposedly "C-Bus Enabled" however upon contacting them they classify C-Bus Enabled by connecting them into a PACA and sending RS232 commands to it.

They are using the C-Bus enabled logo however they are not listed on the C-Bus enabled site nor are they meeting the criteria of being C-Bus enabled.

    My Opinion:

Personally, I cannot justify the price for the unit. But if they do the job right then they are fine.

If I order any I want to take it apart and see if it is running off an Arduino board/ :p

    It's a good product.
I used one for an install with 4 Daikin units.
You can probably imagine the anxiety I felt handing over the cash internationally 6 years ago to get one.

It was early days for the interface back then and I did have a problem with my unit, but the technical support was good and it was replaced promptly.

The CoolMaster has an RS232 interface and you are going to need a logic device such as PACA, Colour touch screen, Wiser or PC running Homegate to control it.

You may also need to add central control adapter boards to the AC units.

As far as the programming goes, the person to contact is CBus forum user djagger.
It is certainly beyond my abilities.

You can see the look of the interface here.

It is expensive, but they work very well, my code is running on about a dozen installs and I've not had any negative feedback about CoolMaster. Have a look at this

and send me a PM if you would like a copy ...

I started to do this for Daikin gear (and a RaspberryPi) and it was hard (and I consider myself fairly decent HW/SW guy), I have no knowledge of what protocol other AC manufacturers use though.
