It's a little sneaky isn't it?

I did the right thing, downloaded the latest version of Toolkit software (v1.1.8), with all it's bug fixes and improvements, BUT it also installs a version of C-Gate2 that breaks my Homegate (v2.6) installation.
So now I am "forced" to buy an upgrade of Homegate (V3) or.... I can go back to using a previous version of Toolkit and C-Gate2 without all the bug fixes.
It would have been nice to have a warning pop up to let me know that the setup has detected an earlier version of Homegate and that this is not compatible with the software being installed and giving me an option to quit.
I am also going to have to uninstall the new versions of PICED and TICA that I installed as they won't work with the older Toolkit and C-Gate2.
Maybe I should have paid more attention to the compatability matrices that appear on the download page??

    Arrrggghhhh!!!!!

    Just can't win.

Believe me this was NOT an attempt to force anybody to upgrade anything.

We've been copping it for having different dependancies between products and C-Gate (and there is a long term plan to sort this mess out). Hence the compatibility chart, and the Monster (errrr Mega) download that bundles everything.

I'll have to leave it until Tuesday for somebody who knows the gory details to follow this up further - but the intent has never been to force users to upgrade products. (Though admittedly it can get quite painful running old and new versions of C-Gate, but again thats not deliberate.)

I think this is only a big issue of you have up graded the Colour touch screen

I think you can roll back everything except the colour touch screen

Oh well, I have ordered a Homegate V3 upgrade. Hopefully will be here soon, and hopefully it won't be made redundant (too soon) by a future Toolkit update.
