On what platform should the java application run?

Bear in mind the wiser user interface is running in your web browser (or in a stand-alone Flash player).

The graphical user interface that we see when using Wiser runs within the browser (a restrictive environment) or Media Center. I suspect that you're asking whether or not a Java application can be run within that user interface itself. I imagine you want to create something that looks like a Wiser widget but is actually a java applet. If that's what you want to do, unfortunately, I don't think that's going to be possible since Adobe's Flash and Sun's (or is it Oracle now?) Java are unlikely to get sufficiently friendly to allow stuff like that. If on the other hand, you just want a button that kicks out of the Wiser application and jumps to a webpage, there may be something like that since the Tools page has a button for configure router which then jumps to the router's configuration web pages. What exactly are you trying to do?

    Thanks for help...

Ashleigh: The Java application can run within Linux. XP, or OSX.

Mr/Ms K: Creating a Wiser widget that is a Java applet is ideal. But if impossible then option B...a user config. widget "button" that jumps out of Wiser to a user config web page would be fantastic...
