    Hi All
Hoping this is the right place for this post....

Have recently had issues with Toolkit starting (1.11.8)
more in particular C-gate (build 2316)

    "Clipsal C-Gate(TM) v2.8.0 (build 2316)

The above appeared to be the result of C-gate memory being set too low.. increased the allocated memory and this seems to have gone away..

    but....

this one is really giving me the $h1t$...

have uninstalled other programs that were installed around the same time...
    no good

have uninstalled Toolkit / C-gate / Java & and reinstalled..
    no good

    Any ideas guys??

    Cheers in Advance

    p.s ... Yes i have a clock and a burden installed....
( just clearing the standard question first :D )

    Hi Dynawhat,

This particular error "(Address already in use: JVM_Bind)" means that somehow there is still a C-Gate process running.

The quickest way to get rid of it is to have a look in Task Manager and kill any remaining java.exe or javaw.exe processes.

    Hi Dynawhat,

I am not sure where the port 0 and port 10 references are coming from.

Do you have a modified config/C-GateConfig.txt? If you delete that file (or back it up somewhere), C-Gate will reconstruct a new config file the next time you start it.

Which OS, Vista or Win7? Does the problem persist after a reboot? Might be worth looking into your firewall or port forwarding configurations.

    os Win 7
am using port forward on 5800 & 5900 for VNC (successfully for years)

    exists after numerous reboots / uninstalls (toolkit / g-gate & Java )
and after reinstalls (and reboots )

firewall norton 360 (turned off) - rules to allow cgate / toolkit / Java to run

problem first arose about 2 weeks ago (been using laptop since)
after having to reboot in Safe mode and turning services off till problem found.
    (msconfig)

once all services turned back on and running normal this issue has decided to turn up.

It's a common problem with the Norton firewall that when you turn it off it causes the system to revert to a blacklist-all configuration. You may need to either uninstall the Norton product completely or restore it to a working firewall configuration.

All out of ideas I'm afraid. The words "having to reboot in Safe mode and turning services off till problem found." means something was pretty sick on your machine before and it doesn't sound like it's fully cured.
