Has anyone used saturn keypads in a screened porch? I have wired a porch with plans of using a saturn keypad, but now the guys at Square D are telling me the keypad won't work in temps below 32.

    thanks

The Saturn key units are officially specified and tested for use over the range of 32 - 113 degrees Fahrenheit (0 - 45 degrees Celsius). It's not a case of "it won't work", rather it's a case of "we won't guarantee that it will work". There is a subtle difference. It also may impact your warranty, you'd need to check this with your local representatives.

I've heard of C-Bus installs in below-freezing environments before and it always seemed to work fine. I'd be more concerned about spiders and bugs crawling inside the switch and making their home in it, given that it's designed for indoor use.

    Nate,

What about using a weather proof keypad with a contact closure tied to an Auxiliary Input Unit? Is that not feasible in that spot?
