    Hi there,

    I have a 12 Channel Voltage Free Relay L5512RVFP. I don't think it's working.

I have 240v on the input (N & A/L), but when I toggle an output I don't get 240v. I only get 0v when toggled ON and 3v then toggled OFF. It's connected to the network and I have a steady green for the C-Bus indicator and a steady green for Unit - except when in override and then it flashes.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

It's a voltage free relay, meaning it has dry rely contacts with no voltage on them. Essentially they are just switches.

The 240v feed, just powers the unit its self, and not the contact side of the relays.

    Cheers

Oooops, so what do I need to switch 240v loads?

    Thanks!

You don't source 240v from each channel, you put them in series in the circuit.

Think how a conventional light circuit is wired. The relay replaces the light switch.

    Cheers

Ahhhh, of course. Me not thinking. That makes sense. I'll do that.
    Thanks!

Otherwise get an Electrician before you put A-N across a relay and blow the ---- out of something or someone?

    A.) I'm still alive. :)
B.) Thanks for reminding me not to post late at night and RTFM earlier. Lol
