    Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum. I am a first year electrical apprentice. I have started this apprenticeship with the goal to specialise in Home Automation. I am working at a company that just does your normal domestic and commercial electrical work. I would like to learn about the C Bus system and i was hoping that i would be about to get some help here on where the best place to start learning.

I am considering doing the clipsal course but if anyone else has any other recommendations that would be great.

    Cheers :)

ps sorry if a similar question has been posted. If it has please link me to that thread.

The training course is by far the best way to get started. There is no substitute for hands-on learning.

Training manuals are available from the Clipsal Web Site. There are also various Application Notes, but you need to cover the basics before reading those.

Sean, I have just done the C-Bus basic course, it is well worth the money. You will get a much better understanding of how it all works.

    Cheers,
    Rob.

Great thanks for the reply Rob, Where about's did you do it? As a first year apprentice do you think its to early to do the course?

Also there basic c-bus course is around $750, but there is also a product pack you can get with it for $650. Do you know what that is exactly?

I did the course in Townsville at the Clipsal office.

Too early or not depends on you and what you can handle, its 3 days and I am not an electrician and had no problems with it.

The product pack is good and if you can cover the $650 then get it, will help you after the course.
It includes 5500PCU USB PC Interface, 5504D2U 4 Channel 2.5Amp Universal Dimmer, 5055DL Neo DLT, 5058NL eight button Neo key input and a software cd.

The only extra thing I would like to have seen in the pack would be one of the movement sensors.

    Hi Sean!

The training information for c-bus and other courses is available on

    www.clipsal.com/training

you can also see what other courses are available in your state and the running date.

    hope this helps!
