    Hi,
Is it possible to use the PAC to change the colour of LEDs on Saturn and Neo units?

This might be a good way to provide Auto / Manual status of sensors.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

No. The PAC does not support this type of command. The best you could do is use the PAC to control the brightness of the indicators via a group address.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

Would be nice if we could.

Imagine if we had RGB LED's in the key inputs and you could control the colour from the PAC.

If this were to be done (and I'm not suggesting for a minute it will), is this a feature you would use often or would you consider it 'a nice decoration' seldom used?

Not sure - it was a thought I had after reading the posts above.

Status of various devices that have multiple states.

    Temperature indication by colour.

Christmas lights in the season to be merry

    just for the WOW effect

flexibility to match the decor or personal preference.

Timer close to expiry indication (flashed blue and then red for the last 10 seconds)

I'm sure there are many more imaginative people out there that could find many uses for it.

    Thanks Mick.

The other questions I should have asked... Would you be willing to pay more for this feature and if so, how much?

I wouldn't have thought this would be a major to assign group addresses for the colour states. The programming can already be done to change the colour on some units so why not have the option to control them via logic?

The change of DLT labels (one for on and one for off) would be much more useful and practical.

This can already be done. I wanted to show the status of a sensor (Enabled or Disabled) from the colour of an led on a Saturn unit. I dont want to have to use DLT's everywhere.

Would anyone else be interested in this feature?

Is this sensor enabled or disabled by a C-Bus group? If so then it's very easy to make the indicator display the enable/disable status, just assign the group to that key (if you don't want the key to affect the status hen just set all the microfunctions for that key to "Idle").

5coobyd00, you can do that on Saturn without the need to resort to Logic. The indicators are already dual colour. If you change the indicator properties to Status(Dual) you can then have one colour for On and the other colour for Off. As that group address goes On/Off to enable/disable your sensor then the key indicator will change colour as well.

Thanks, I understand this, but what I really wanted to achieve is setting a button to be a bell press and have it run some logic for OFF/AUTO/MAN control of a pir. I can think of quite a number of other uses if the colours could be controlled via another group address. Future firmware updates maybe?

    It's still possible!

You can associate the LEDs in a Saturn button with any group you like in a unit - even one that does not have a key associated with it -

look at the advanced tab in Toolkit under Blocks and associate the indicator of you choice with a block that is not associated with a key.

you can set up the LEDs to be dual colour, then use another group to control the colour. If you want a flash, I guess you could alternate between the two colours by turning the LED group on and off, though that would use up a bit of the network bandwidth so keep the flash rate low.

I admit it would be nice to be able to use all the possibilities [off, orange, blue and pinkish], but that is not possible (yet).

Great suggestion Don, I appreciate your thinking outside the square! Still would be easier if this could be achieved by one group address - Next firmware update? :)
