We're getting a new bathroom fitted by a company which has experience with lighting solutions, but as we're in the UK it's unlikely that it'll be C-Bus specific.

We currently have 4 x Halogen Lights running from a channel on a 5508D1A dimmer. It looks like the new bathroom will have 4 x low power LED "accent" lights in alcoves, which would ideally run from the same lighting circuit.

Is it likely that we could do any damage by adding these LEDs into the circuit? The total power of all the bulbs will be well under the limit, but I don't know if mixing the types of bulb will cause problems? Is it safe just to try them and see what happens?

If the new LEDs are suitable for leading edge phase control dimming, then you will probably be OK with only 4.

It very much depends on the LED design though. You may also encounter some buzzing from the dimmer and/or lamps themselves.

Thanks Nick, that's good to know. I may buy one and link it up temporarily to see how it goes :). Good to know that it won't cause any damage :D.

I bought some Philips Dimmable LEDs and these seem to work great :). I've got a circuit with 6 x 6W SES Candles and 2 x MR16s and there is no flickering or noise.
