light sensor of touch screens

    I will suggest something that it might be silly but :eek:
    since the touch screens already have a light sensor for automatic backlight control wouldn't be handy to use it to control also the light level of the room it is installed?

    In principle, it could be done.

    The light sensor in the C-Touch is not intended to be particularly accurate and is not calibrated. For proper room light level control a more precise sensor is desirable.

    You would also have problems with shadows on the light sensor in the C-Touch when someone is using the C-Touch. This would cause the room lights to brighten each time someone used the C-Touch.
