    Hi All,
Newbie here, I have been searching for a solution to my problem but as yet havent found one, so here we go.

In an investment property of mine I have an issue with one of my channels coming on and staying on unexpectedly. When the tennant attempts to turn them off from the Saturn Wall Plate they dim to approx 50%but stay on. I cannot turn them off. The wall plate is showing off as the LED is off for that switch on the wall plate.
It is only one Channel. I am a sparkie but have no idea of C-Bus
    Any Ideas?

    Thanks for any help...

There could be control from another device setting the minimum level.

Best thing would be for someone to connect a computer in and inspect.

    Where are you located?

Sounds to me like its probably on a universal dimmer channel, and one of the MOSFETs is blown (short circuit) so that the load is getting 1/2 cycles when its OFF.

This can also happen (but very rare these days) with TRIACs in dimmers.

It means the dimmer unit needs to be removed and replaced. You'll need a sparky to do that, the dimmer can then be sent back to Clipsal for repair.

Thanks for the replies, I am located in Adelaide. Tonight I am going to go to the house and disconnect the circuit and move to another channel and see if the problem follows or stays on the troublesome channel. This should identify load or CBus problem? I have just downloaded the C-Bus toolkit, the RS232 pinout for the cable, is it just the generic pinout or is it C-Bus specific pinout?:)

Look at the Logic tab on the dimmer for a programming issue.

DB9 cable - just use a standard null modem cable.

I changed the circuit on the channel that was playing up, to another channel and vice versa and the problem stayed with the channel so it appears that the channel is faulty. Thanks for your assistance all. Has anyone got a price on a L5504D2A 4 Channel Dimmer? P&R Electrical say about $550..
