Has anyone had any luck getting the Media Player plugin to work on a XP SP2 PC with MCE?

I installed the plug-in off the web to my server.
I push the button assigned to launch media player control on the touch screen and it brings the player window up but then i get nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Media centre

I have had similar problems with the Plug in when used on PC's with Windows Media Centre. I have tried 2 PC's now, both have crashed Media Player v10, once the plug in is selected. I get OLE error for 30 times, then WMP closes.

On a laptop i have got, XP Pro and version 9 of WMP, it works fine.

Do I need to install the media player exe file that is on the CIS downloads page, or is that purely for version 9?

    Can someone help?

    Media Player control

Has anyone nutted out the problem with this plugin.
We are running XP Pro & WMP Ver. 10. on laptop.
The touch screen seems to freeze up once connect button is pressed. (if the playlist has a large volume of songs)
If the playlist is short 40 songs or less the unit seems to play fine.

On the custmomers machine on site the (XP Home & Version 9)
Media player has error meeasge over & over then shuts down.

We have just loaded on the XP Home machine Media player 11. This version does not seem to have the add button under plug ins.

Any help with this mess would be greatly appriciated

    Cheers

    Shane

Add Plugin to Media Player 11

You are able to add the plug in to media player 11 by modifying the registry as shown on the attached document.

You must modify the following line using edit first to show the location you have saved the DLL in.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{27A4E170-0D58-405D-A0DF-C331FB2D0F11}\InprocServer32]
    @="C:\\temp\\mmc\\WMPCTouchControl.dll"

Use at your own risk but it worked for me.
