    Hi to all the Guru's,

I have a question about multisensors and traffic reduction.
But first a little bit of background on the network that is causing problems:

-6 Bridges connected to a backbone (star config if thats the way you like to call it)
-Touch Screen (4.7.2.0) on the Backbone running logic & schedules.
-All bridges set to send all applications to adjacent network
-Each of the 6 networks consists of approx 3 Dali GW (fw 3.2) and 30 - 40 Multisensors (fw 2.0.0).
-Each network has 3 - 4 groups that the multisensors trigger. 10 multisensors to each group. timers set to 1min.

The problem I have is that I am seeing allot of traffic triggering the same group on. In Toolkit Log Every 1 - 2 sec sensors will trigger same group as movement detected.

Im not sure if this is causing the C-Touch to not respond (havent had enough time to check)
Problem is that after a peroid of time C-Touch shows that it is controlling groups but doesnt have any affect on the other networks or vice versa. If I reboot C-Touch all works fine. Interesting thing is if the C-Bus network is disconnected & then reconnected from the C-Touch I can re-produce the same problem. I have enabled the NOOP test on C-Touch for something to try for now.

I seem to remember something about Crowd Control in latest multisensors but is this in older sensors?

Cheers for any thoughts on this.

Multisensors 2.0.00 or earlier don't have the "Crowd Control" network traffic minimising algorithm in them, so your Multisensors are going to send plenty of messages if they're sharing groups and the area is busy.

To confirm, I suggest that you hook up the Diagnostic Utility to the target network, to check whether the messages are actually reaching the destination network. Is it the case that, when the networks stop responding, all 6 remote networks don't respond?

Does the 'no C-Bus' icon appear in the top left corner of the touchscreen?

    Thanks Newman,

I thought that was the case . Im not loosing my memory :)
Yes when C-Touch does not respond all networks do not respond or display changes on screen.

Next time i am on site I will do a log and see what is going on.

This doesn't actually do anything in Colour C-Touch, only in PICED, HomeGate and Schedule Plus.

    Hi Darren,

Thanks, wasn?t sure if that had any affect.

I am on site now and have taken a log of what is going on. I will attach to this post.

I think I defiantly have an issue with the touch screen after cbus network dropout.
I can see that the "No Cbus" symbol shows and after reconnect it goes away, but from that point on I get no response from the touch screen until it is rebooted.

There is also allot of traffic from multisensors (only 2 networks with movement currently) If there was all 6 networks am sure there would be allot more units Duke-ing it out for a spot to transmit.

    Any ideas?
I guess I could put a reboot in once a day but this is not a fix.

Something to try is to put a CPU load component in the C-Touch project to see if it's regularly getting very busy. This can cause a few C-Bus comms issues.

Is it possible that this Colour C-Touch hasn't had it's flash card updated and it's still running the original OS version?
