    Hi,

Can we have a c-bus network without PC interface? if Yes, how we connect to the network? Is there any other devices we can use for accessing the network.

    PC or not PC

Yes you can have a C-bus network running without a PCI - you just need to make sure that one and one only Network Burden is enabled in a Relay or Dimmer unit or a hardware Burden is used and that at least 1 (max recommended 3) system clocks are enabled on relay or dimmer units on that network. This will give you a network that works but you will still need to connect a PCI to the network to program (via your PC - laptop) the switching associations, scenes etc that you want to occur. Now if you don't want to use a PC then you can program cirtain basic functions into the units on the network using the 'learn' feature.

If you don't want to use a serial PCI you can also connect to a network using a CBTI (Serial and modem connection), C-Touch B&W (Serial), PAC (USB) or CNI (Ethernet).

So, if you wiring 10 units for example, as a standard, do you install PC interface for each unit, or just use on PC interface, to program (upload) the network, then remove the PC interface and use if for each network.
(Here I am trying to save some money). what is standard practice?

    You're on the money IRQ!
We rarely install a PCI permanenlty in a job - it's not required after programming. If you need to access the network later, just take a PCI with you or if your network has any of the support units that Richo mentioned, do it that way.
    Cheers.
