New Firmware for NIRT

Would it be possible in the new improved NIRT to allow a group address depending on level to issue different IR codes out in conjuction with a trigger group address??? IE: if group address 1 is at 25% and group address 2 is on send IR code 1 then if group address 1 is at 50 % and group address 2 is on send IR Code 2 ETC ETC. This may have far reaching effects in regards to MRA and could be rolled back into those units as firmware becomes available.

Well, the NIRT can already transmit IR commands in response to either a Group Address going On OR a Group Address being at a specific level. The only thing it can't do is assess multiple groups to determine what to do, it only looks at single C-Bus messages to determine if it should be transmitting an IR message.

Would I be correct in assuming that you want to embed some kind of logic into the unit? i.e. if A and B then transmit C? We have the Logic Engine so a solution is already available for that. The internal architecture of the NIRT doesn't lend itself easily to this sort of thing.

 

There are currently no plans to modify the firmware of the Nirt. The software used to program the Nirt (Circa) is being updated, but the actual capabilities of the Nirt will remain largely unchanged.

The new design of the Circa software will be able to expose some previously hidden features that the old design didn't allow for, but changes like you describe above will not be possible.

However, the suggestion has been logged into the change management system so it can be considered for future releases.

 

Could you give some examples of how you might use this proposed feature with MRA? Curious to know, maybe there is some other way to achieve what you want.
