I like the new forum layout - NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

All the forum sections to do with little used products at the top (makes sense NOT)

Now we have to dig around to get the to useful commonly used sections.

Maybe re order based on thread number - Ooooooor just put it back the old way.

Old heads like me have trouble with change ;)

I just click on the "new posts" thingy...

But I also didb;t make the change and don't know how to unmake it.

will have to talk to the person responsible and ask that it go back how it was.

    Forum Changes

I third the motion. The forum is now much harder to navigate than the old layout. Can we go back to how it was?

    Cheers - Bill

    Thanks Ashleigh,

We are all pretty pressed for time these days so a good top down approach (most used threads - most active sections etc) tends to help with a quick drop into the forum and the quick scan we all do with web pages.

I can see it was a great initiative    to change the forum around but the natives appear to be restless ;)

On a serious note for 300 miliseconds - the easier it is to scan and pick up new posts the better the chance help will be offered to those in need :)

To be honest, I hadn't even noticed that anything had changed.

I just have the link of the "New Posts" button saved as a bookmark, and click that each time I want to view the forums. I can't even remember the last time I looked at the main page of the forums to be honest

The easiest way to do this is to use the "New Posts" button. I never use anything else (in fact my bookmark bar takes me straight there).

As others have pointed out... if you were using this you wouldn't have even noticed the change!

I have reorganised and simplified the structure of the front page. Feedback welcome.

    So why change it

Yes it is very easy to press the New Posts button, however it is also handy to be able to review specific forum sections - even posts you may have already read

Anyway it looks like I wasn't the only one who thought the original layout was fine. Looks like ask and you shall receive...

When it was changed, and just after I read this thread, I noticed a section on the C-Bus OPC server and now its gone - was it planned and then pulled for some reason?

There was a section for the C-Bus OPC Server, but things weren't 100% ready for the release (non-technical issues) so it will have to wait a little longer. Sorry for any confusion.

    Hi Richo,

I don't want to sound picky, but,,, C-Bus Wireless is sort of in the middle of the common used (larger) forum topics. Not that there is anything wrong with Wireless ;) It just doesn't seem to belong second from the top - and in between two forum sections 10 times larger ???

yeah, I debated about that with myself, in the end I thought it was better next to the other hardware forum. This way Wired C-Bus Forum and Wireless C-bus Forum are next to each other so it is easier for someone to pick the right one for there query.
