OK, it's been a while coming, but here it it!!!

A brand new product in the C-Bus line.

CIS this morning, released for sale (in Australia), a new 8 channel ELV relay unit.

With a price at launch of $265 trade, its a bargain.

    enjoy

    BTW, here's the datasheet....

This looks great !! Good work. no local power needed. I assume the relays are not the latching type.

They are latching (a necessity of running relays off bus power), however they are returned to the OFF condition if C-Bus power is lost.

This must be why it draws 36ma
not the typical 18ma we see on other devices.

R&D was quick on this item since the forum discussed back in 08 considering all the testing needed and a patent.
Having a SPDT (N.O/N.C) contacts is a blessing.

Is the enclosure waterproof / splash proof for outdoor installation.
Can the PCB be easily removed and mounted with standoffs in a metal enclosure or into a alarm enclosure?

When will they be available for ordering locally?
Any plans for marketing in the USA and UL listing?

    Thanks

    The enclosure is not waterproof
No, the PCB cannot be removed

There is a US model that will be launched soon that is UL listed and Plenum rated too.... branded Schneider

Well, the product is in a plastic enclosure and *is* suitable for mounting outdoors, but not where it can get rained on or hosed down. Under the eaves or similar, where it's out of the weather should be just fine.

Just be careful... the material used is not UV stabilized so shouldn't be in direct sunlight

I agree as the UV is a killer, makes the plastic turn to dust on the surface.

Being small and ease of mounting it can be workable as-is. Great product.

Being so small I presume there is no internal protection (fusing) as it probably is just a basic dry contact SPDT relay.

It is good to know it will be available in the USA soon.

When will it be available in Australia or the UK?

I would love to get my hands on one and test in the USA.

    Thanks

    It's 32mA, but yeah, that's the reason.

That is correct. You are free to wire your own protection in series should you choose.
