The C-Bus cable has a sheath that is rated at 240v making it safer for entering a switchboard where output units are located (there are still precautions to take and these are outlined in the C-Bus training manuals). It also has a distinctive pink colour making it easy to identify.

Hi, thanks for reply, so for what i understand , c-bus cable is the best option for c-bus system, right? FYI, clipsal has few types of cat5e, example 1 is in Grey color (cat5e ) and another 1 is in blue in color ( cat6 ). so can i use Grey color cable? will it effect the stability of c-bus system?

p/s : sry for my English is bad.

It doesn't matter what cat5 you use it will not effect the c-bus network as far a comms goes.
As started above the difference is with the sheath or outer cover of the cable. The Pink Clipsal Cat5 has been 240volt rated, most other Cat5 cables have not been, which means your job won't be legal if you run a blue cat5 into a 240volt board (eg where the dimmers/relays are). Plus it makes the cable easy to identifiy when you have a mix or data/telephone/c-bus running through the place.
My personal option just use Pink Cat5 and do the job right, your not really going to save that much money using another (or wrong) colour cat5

    Pink Cat5

One other point worth mentioning ... "mains rated sheathing" does not mean TPS. C-Bus Cat5 needs to be run with the same care and attention as standard Cat5.
