I have to replace a PSU in my own CTCv2 Touch-panel but upon calling my wholesalers they have quoted me $259.99 just for a power-supply (5000CTCPS/2). Is their a non-OEM product that is compatible with these units? If so where can you purchase them from?

BTW: My C-Touch Colour is out of warranty

    Hello,

Unfortunately with a mk2 ctouch you are stuck with using the 5000ctcps/2..

Things change with the mk3 though.. ;-)

    Cheers..

    Hi Roosta,

On that note how can I tell what MK version my touch panel is the label on the rear has the following:

    C-Touch Colour - 5000CTC Series
    C-Bus Voltage: 15-36VDc
    C-Bus Current: 5.3Vdc
    DC Input: 5.3Vdc, 5A

It has the Saturn Facia and also says C-Bus2 in the top right corner.

(crossing fingers it is not an MK2)

Unless you bought your ctouch in the past week it is either v1 or v2.. Only way to tell is by looking at the powersupply connector on the unit.. If it is a 4 pin connector it is v1, if it is a 6/7 pin connector it is v2..

    Cheers..

    Hey Roosta,

We have just been told that our order of 2 CTC is on hold due to the release of v3 and that we will be getting the new ones when they come in.

My current problem is that the wall boxes and power cable for v2 has been chased and rendered in. Do you know what differences there are between the units? Ie different mountings or if a v2 power supply will work with the v3?

If there are going to be major differences I may have to insist that we get v2!!

    Hi jboer

We've tried to make the power supply for the V3 more generic! No need for adapter boxes nor special length cables. The V3 touchscreen will use a 24V dc power supply. The one we are supplying is rated for high temperature and is also over rated (current wise) to allow for voltage drop... and a lower cost. The cable you have plastered in can be used for the V3 touchscreen but unfortunately, a V2 power supply can not. Believe me, I tried to get the V3 unit to work on the lower voltage of the V2 as well, but no cigar :-(

All of the hardware will be the same (wall boxes, fascia etc).

Would strongly suggest you go for the V3... much better performance specs..

    Cheers

    Thanks for stepping in Conformist..

You answered that one much better than I..

Also J, you should find with the new V3 CTOUCH and PSU a little drop in price.. So works out better in many ways.. :-D

    Cheers..

Ok, Thanks. That sounds good. I will just have to pull out the power supply and swap it over and use the existing cabling down to the screen. Will talk to our rep about exchanging the power supplies over :)
