Not sure if it's still there, but there used to be "Never run with scissors" as well...

If you want a bit of a giggle, assign the Special Function 'Button Press Warning' to something.. and keep clicking....

Sorry, I don't see the humour! and not because i'm a Brit!

Perhaps if the software team spent less time adding 'Easter Eggs' and more time trapping and fixing Exception Errors we'd all be a bit more inclined to use C-Bus!

Toolkit is now on V1.14.4 and it still throws uncaught Exceptions! and yes i did note that your comments where on Schedule Plus, but thats not without issue either.

    Paul.

I have to admit I hadn't seen the "Button press warning" one myself.

    Just for the record..

Those easter eggs would probably have been there for close to 10 years, and rather than being an indication of a lack of urgency on anyone's part, they are an indication of someone who loves their job and likes to have fun doing it.

I can also say with absolute certainty that the same person has spent many many hours of their own time investigating and fixing issues that have affected customers.

    Nick

    PS : It wasn't me!

The button press warning is getting put onto my system this weekend with a label 'self destruct button'...

See how long it takes for the kids to find it. :D

In reply to Pauls comments about CBus Toolkit.
I've been using CBus Toolkit for over 10 years with 4 different versions of Windows and every service pack upgrade along the way.
In that time I have only found one Toolkit software download to have major problems.
I just installed Toolkit 1.14.5 on Windows 10 anniversary update and it is working very well.
Also downloaded PICED and imported projects no problem.

Paul has indicated on another thread that his preference is to use Dynalite products and I think that is OK but it is not productive on this forum to make claims of software problems without providing any details.

CBus software is functional and working with the very latest Windows operating systems.

    I didn't write that code.

But I'm fairly certain that the "Did you know" or "Tip of that day" widget thingy was a component that was off-the-shelf from some vendor or other (possibly a few $, possibly free, does not really matter).

But I do recall that things like "Don't run with scissors" were standard tip text in every new use of that component. I think there were a few smart ones provided by the original vendor that remained, and new stuff was added to suit the application.

In other words, the developers didn't waste time putting those things in - they were already there. Further, the developers did the smart thing and used off the shelf widgets for this kind of stuff instead of grow-your-own. Which gets the job done faster and allows effort to be devoted elsewhere.
