Is it possible to convert old C-Bus programs. Seem to be landing a few jobs where there is the program is on a disc (remember them??) & the program needs to be updated before I can import it (cta file)

If you're talking about a C-Bus project file created using the C-Bus V2 Installation Software, you can import it into Toolkit by downgrading your Toolkit version to one that supports import of old project files. It was somewhere arount Toolkit 1.10.8 or 1.10.9 that the ability to import old C-Bus project files was dropped.

So, the process is to downgrade Toolkit, import the old C-bus project file, then revert back to the current version of Toolkit (currently 1.11.12). Toolkit will then upgrade that C-Bus project to the current version the first time you click on it. Current versions of PICED will then be able to use the C-Bus project.

Thanks very much for the reply
What I have been given is just a .cta file. When I import this archive into PICED, I end up with the message along the lines of:
    "Error using C-Bus Database
    Error loading C-Bus project
Project must be upgraded before use"

    Plug it in!

    Hi Ray
I've found that it is usually more reliable to hook up to the C-bus network, scan and save the project to database. That way you get the current settings including any changes that have been made and not documented or saved.

    Cheers

    Sorted!

Thanks guys, I wasn't reading the last message right & it dawned on me on the way home. The C-bus file is already is loaded when I import the archive file into Piced, so all I needed to do was open CBus & update the file. All good now.
No one ever said I was bright, but I can lift heavy stuff :):)
