I dont really want to upgrade it as everything did what i wanted it to do and i have a phone card that i can still use on it.

and before you say i have lost the program running on it naaa i always kept a backup.

so if anyone knows where there could be one or has one they arnt using please email me.

    Thanx

    Greetings Chris,

Are you still in need? I am expecting to replace my Minder with a touch screen in the next two or three weeks. You are welcome the Minder if you want it. I have the touch screen, the hold up is establishing exactly what the Minder is doing as I was never given the programme.

Curious, you said you replaced your Minder with a touch screen.
    What screen did you use?
Did you xfer all functionality that the Minder was doing (Alarms etc) to the Touchscreen?
If so, was it easy to do?

I am assuming he means the logic and scheduling functions obviously.

alarm systems make excellent alarm systems,
and inputs and outputs can be managed on the bus via bus couplers and auxillary units while low voltage switching can be done cheaply with the low voltage relay so the end of a minder is not the end of the world.

Except of course Minder did all that in one box that wasn't all that expensive. So it's demise is a matter of personal opinion I guess.

I liked the minder and still have 50 of them that I service around the place. and including 1 on my home cbus network and one in the garage collecting dust.

it has been about 8+ years since its support stopped - the world did go on, and I still stand by my previous comments.

you are right about the functions handled by the minder and until the release of the ELV relay cost may have been an issue to get the same functionality out of a system.

    do the maths
alarm panel + bus coupler+ ELV relay+ pac

    1 x minder + 8years of inflation = F all differance

    Minder available

I still have my old Minder and would be pleased if it found a new home. Please contact me by reply here or directly using [email protected].

    New home

At last my old minder as found a new home. The touch screen is still not doing everything quite as expected, but at least now I have something that can be worked on.

    old minder

have a 10 year old minder / c-bus system in a local aged care building.
need to know how to check internal clock of minder.
my laptop has no serial port but i do have a serial/usb conv. but will not communicate.
It is time to change to touch screen.
minder control is for lights (dimming) and some relays (heaters)
