Just wondering what the logic behind PICED V4 only being able to open one application of the software at any one time is. I like many programmers use dual monitors and when programming a new colour touch screen used to have previous completed projects open on the other monitor to use as a reference. I also could cut and paste logic very quickly from one screen to the other but can no longer do this in version 4. I see in the new feature list for this version it is listed as a feature?????? Could anybody from CIS shed some light on this for me?

    Regards Otters

Relevant person is not in the office until next week, you'll have to wait a little for an answer.

A lot of people asked for exactly this feature, so we implemented it.

Unfortunately, we often get conflicting requirements from different users which makes it impossible to make everyone happy :(

How could that ever be considered a "feature" ?

If the user only wanted to open one instance of the program, then they need only open one instance.

I am also a coder / programmer and more often than not run at least 2 screens - for the same reason I absolutely hate "tabbed" interfaces (eg: Lotus Notes  ) because they force me to run things "inside" other things... basically makes dual-monitors useless.

Even more annoying since the Operating System is already tabbed (windows taskbar / alt+tab). It always makes me laugh when I have to point out that thing at the bottom of the screen which has buttons so that you can switch quickly between open applications

I agree. This was very handy and its pretty annoying that we now cannot open more then 1 project at a time.

Rather then prevent this from happening why not just make it an option?

All it needs is an "Allow multiple instances" checkbox. If you set it off at default that allows us 'Advanced' users to enable it while keeping those that dont want to use it happy.
