Partname not saving to Network Unit

Iam currently running toolkit 1.1.4 and so download option2, but when i go to install its says must have java 1.4.2.07 so now downloading full version

Option 2:
C-Bus Toolkit which does not include the Java Runtime Environment Version, you should have at least version 1.4.2_05. If you are running C-Bus Toolkit 1.1.4 at the moment then this option is suitable for you

just trying 1.1.5 and when i go online and call up a touch screen and change the unit name and save to database it does not change the database or the unit itself - see pic

Hi Dave,

Loading the unit from the Database View (top view): The editing works fine..

Loading from the Network View: The tag/part name changes are not saved back to the Database. But the Partname is saved to the unit fine.

Its a little problematic and I'll tidy it up for the next release.. I've updated our test plan to reflect this scenario.. reading back over our existing plan it does seem to focus on Users who makes changes on the database and save these to the Network units.. both directions should work fine of course.

the bad news is even when i change the data in database view and save to both database and unit, rescan network, new data does not show up.

so opened unit and both unit name and tag empty.

Tried on a different machine.. and it does appear your right.. will release a new build ASAP.

 

A quick update.. The issue seems related to Bridge, Wireless Gateways and some PC_* devices. Other devices appear to work correctly..

Rather than rushing a new build through we're going to pick this up in the next planned released.

Adding a Ctouch unit in toolkit 1.1.5.
Not in database ? start toolkit and scan network
Open up ctouch unit menu ? on toolkit there is a column ?Partname? but no such field in unit display.
Set ?Unit Name? = AAAA
Set ?Tag Name? = bbbb
Save to database and network ? rescan network

Top frame of toolkit now shows
?Part Name? = empty ? is this same field as ?Partname? in bottom frame ?
?Tag Name = bbbb
Bottom frame shows NO data for Partname or Tag Name

Open ctouch unit again and there is No data in either field.
Open unit database and only Tag Name has data

Test 2
Open unit in database
Set ?Unit Name? = XXX
Set ?Tag Name? = zzzz
Save to database and network
Rescan network
Data ok in top frame ? no data in unit in bottom frame
Open ctouch unit ? bottom frame ? and no data in fields
