    Hi all,

I have C-Bus lighting connected to my home automation system (Homevision) through a PCI RS232 interface. This allows me to control all the lights etc from my PC and touchscreens throughout the house. My only problem is that the system keeps track of the light status internally but does not pick up status messages from the PCI interface. It has the capacity to interpret messages and update the internal table across the RS232 interface, however, I am unsure of how to set this up.

I have the Public PCI CBUS release information that makes some mention and I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions:

    - Is this possible to send the status through the PCI interface?
    - If so, do you have to do something special in the PCI setup to get it to send the message?
    - Is there a better way to go about this (noting I can only use an RS232 interface) ?
    - Is the status message sent on every change of a light?
    - Has someone else already done this and can help me through it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Glen

    Yes, move to CQC :p
    Yes
Yes, but I know nothing about Homevision, however I think Frank Mc Alinden uses it.

Glen, how did you do it mate? I'm wanting to transfer some scenes (just some for theatre etc) onto TSU 9600 and would rather go 232 from and to PCI than to use a Pronto Script. Might be nice to have feedback.

    Cheers
