    48 channel Phantom relay module.

How about Clipsal make a small unit

    "48 channel Phantom relay module."

(with no relays) (may be with 48 LEDS helpful for debugging)

This would not be hard to design.

An would keep every thing Physical. !

All Phantom Groups go here... and MMI works as well.

For commercial integration where there are high level interfaces to networks where touchscreens exist - almost every job, they would be very handy. Obviously not as useful in domestic situations.

It is worth a thought by the marketing guru's.

I reckon it would make a good feature addition to the PAC module!

Can't be done in the PAC for a variety of reasons.

Got some bad news (about Santa) for you Phil.

Perhaps I'd better PM you. Hope you are sitting down when you get it.

Sorry to revive an old thread.....

I'm in the process of creating a UI that interacts with cgate to send commands.

An issue I have hit is when I configure a button to turn on/off a light that is not controlled by any inputs units (a few lights are set to a scene which turn on and off) I get an error in cgate and notice the group address has 'phantom' next to it when the tree 254 command is sent.

After reading this thread I see how you can load the unused group addresses into logic blocks, but would it also be possible to load them into the Virtual Key Group of say a 4 gang saturn?

Would it have the same effect?

or would it be simpler to just send a 'new phantom 254/56/xx' command?

    just after some suggestions....

    Thanks

As long as the network and application exists, then C-Gate should automatically create a phantom group for you. There should be no need for either of your proposed solutions.

For example, on my network I have no lighting group 200, confirmed by its absence when I do a "tree 254" command.

If I send "on 254/56/200", C-Gate accepts the command and sends it onto C-Bus. There is no error message.

If I do another "tree 254", group 200 is now in the list.

I'm finding when I do the same as above; that the phantom group is created by cgate,
but when I try to send the on or off command again I get a 400 Error, think it may be 408 if I remember correctly.

    I'm sending:

    on 254/56/18

    and receiving:

    408 Operation failed: //FACTORY/254/56/18

I am not seeing that. It might be a good idea for you to post an extract from a C-Gate log showing this happening.

    Try 'on //FACTORY/254/56/18'

If that doesn't work then make sure your network is in sync first.

I've tried the 'on //FACTORY/254/56/18' with no luck.
I find with the sync that it never gets to an OK state, every time I send a tree command it always states sync.
Anyway, will try a few things today at work and post some logs later.

    From C-Gate: event.txt

If the network is not in the OK state, you can not send commands to it.

    Have you opened the network?

Do commands work when addressed to to group addresses which are used on the C-Bus network? If these also fail, then your problem is nothing to do with being phantom, groups.
