I have two applications ? lighting and shutters and find that when using Piced (hard) that group numbers from the shutters Application keep getting added to the lighting Application.

To find out what the sequence is that is causing the trouble I want to trap the groups being added at the time they are added, what's the best way to do this ???

Dave - more information would help.

Do these groups appear during Toolkit programming? After transfer to network? After running one of your project-database-hacking-tools? After running a PAC? After running a project in S+?

There HAS BEEN a fault with something (I cant remember exactly what) where secondary applications in key units were being handled incorrectly in cgate, thus messing up things in schedule+. I believe thats been fixed in the most recent TK, though.

    Ashleigh,
gee me hack what's it coming too. haaha

If i use your Tookkit to delete any groups with names in the database then use Piced to do some editing somewhere along the way the groups get added.
Problem is that I not know when they get added so its hard to narrow down what the sequence is.
Not sure if it multiple versions of Piced running or Toolkit and Piced running at same time or just Piced by it self so will just run Piced but need a trap for when they added.
    PS
not connected to network, just using mainframe

    Got it

Darren bet you never tested this.

1 Open Toolkit and make sure no ?group xx? in lighting application

2 Close Toolkit and leave Cgate running

3 Open Piced and use monitor to check group(s) not added

4 Now I have the shutter buttons set with ?timers? on Application 57.

If I press a ?open? ? with a timer value of say 5 seconds ? and during the time period add ?level? indicator.

5 Reload C-bus tags (have to check if reload was in the time out period) and open monitor and bingo the group is now added to the Lighting Application

Thanks Dave. I have managed to replicate this fault. You are right - I didn't test that exact sequence of events :(

It is now in our system as number 18368. I will try to get it fixed in the next release.

    Thanks Darren
Saves me time cleaning up the database, also on your list can Piced be made to use the clipboard so I can copy and paste from one project to another without having to make templates.

At the moment I open a number of instances of Piced, make a template with one, switch to the other and import.

I have added this to our system as number 18369, but it is a big change and is unlikely to be done in the near future.
