I had a problem with my CNI recently - couldnt connect.. It was a network / router issue. That problem was eventually fixed, and I can connect to the network again using toolkit - make whatever changes etc...

But while my CNI was down I had an urgent need to connect to my touch screen to make some changes. Using Piced, I went into Options / Program Options to change my connection type from a network CNI connection to a USB connection - and I plugged directly into the touch screen.
Made my changes - wow - much faster to upload (like seconds compared with 30 minutes - LOL)

Now I have the CNI connection working again - and using toolkit successfully, I want to use Piced again - but it wont allow me to transfer my program. I think piced still thinks I am trying to connect va the mkii touchscreen using USB.

So I thought simply enough to go into program options again and change things back - nope it wont allow me to change anything, before I even get the option screen - I get an error... Exception 'EReadError' in module PICED.exe at 00033C66 Error reading CTouchComComboBox.ComProperty: COM Port Error: WriteFile function failed on registry read

Have I corrupted something, and need to reinstall the piced software ? Any clues ?

Full error report reproduced below (sorrry so much detail....)

I got it fixed - plugged my laptop into a USB device, and was able to change the settings.... It needed the USB drivers loaded to allow me to change the parameters.

Maybe at some point the toolkit software could be fixed to not check for connection prior to trying to change any program parameters ? I am hesitant to use the USB connector on the touch screen as I reckon eventually Id break the plastic lugs holding the glass plate by accident.

    All solved - Ta.
