Two small enchancements to add to your list
1 can we have a box do set "no warning", I get pages of them from multiple actions on a single button.
2 The logic editor paste function - when I copy text from excel (a single cell) then use the Piced logic editor to do a replace text by first highlighting text to be replaced, when I goto do the paste the editor and shows the text to be replace not what was copied from excel.
What I have to do is activate up the replace widow first then copy the text from excel.

We are planning to do this. Item #8655

Dave, you really need to read your posts before you click "submit" ;)

If I understand you correctly, you are having problems pasting from Excel into the PICED logic editor, specifically replacing selected text. I tried the following and it worked fine :
    1. Select some text from a cell in Excel
    2. Selected copy (CTRL + C)
    3. Went into PICED logic editor
    4. Selected some text to be replaced
    5. Selected paste (CTRL + V)

I also tried this and it worked fine too :
    1. Select a series of cells in Excel
    2. Selected copy
    3. Went into PICED logic editor
    4. Selected some text to be replaced
    5. Selected paste

Can you give some more details of how to make this happen ?

Now you see why they will not let me do the documentation.

1 Using a mouse for all actions
2 Copy a cell in excel - ie “Air Con”
3 In Piced highlight “WC Spot” then goto the “replace” function – note its only copies after the space – see pic1
4 Goto the “replace with“ entry and paste (using mouse) –Were is the “Air Con” its disappeared - see pic2

    More Ideas
Need some way of setting up the user click function on a button without having to put in the coordinates in every time, ie ?Getclick(button 1)? and let the complier add the coordinates or ?Getbutton Coord(button 1)? and it returns the values.

What about a user plugin or library that contains logic code that be added the current project so not have to copy and paste all the time.

Could I suggest for Ver 4
The error reporting just before you transfer to CTC
    Could this be split into
visual errors i.e. button is covered by etc.
And real errors i.e. things logic schedules scenes care about.
Could also the list of errors appear at the top of the report not at the bottom especially the critical errors

That way I would take more notice of a great facility in PICED!
    Thanks
    Mike

    :)

Thanks. I can make it happen now. I am not sure if there is going to be much I can do about this for now, as this part of the code is handled by a third party component. I will add it to our list of things to fix anyway.

Good idea. It is now on the list as #9282.

We are planning to do a lot of logic templates sometime soon.

We are going to review the way the error report is structured in the next version to make the more critical errors easier to see. Something like you have suggested would certainly help.

    Darren,

Is there perhaps a cleverer way to deal with "semi-obscured compoments" ?

I often layer / overlay buttons, text and other things on top of floor plans, etc.

Also, because "touchable areas" can only be rectangular, to make (say) an "L-shaped" hotspot you need to overlay a small (inactive) square over a larger square that acts as a button (that make sense?)

None of these are truly "errors".... and if you do a decent sized project it can generate a huge number of errors that are not particularly easy to trawl through"

I don't really know what I am suggesting here, except that I don't enjoy going thru the errors list every time and trying to work out which are "real errors" and which are simply layering issues...

Maybe just food for thought, I guess

    Thanks, John
