Edit: Apologies for posting in wrong thread!

Just wondered if there are any problems placing a PIR in a garage.

The idea is the garage door goes up from door remote, PIR senses car coming in and turns lights on. All fine. But given the engine (and car bonnet in particular) will be hot, is it likely to trigger falsely over the hour or so the car cools down?

Is there any advantage using a 5753PEIRL vs. a 5751L in this situation?

    Thanks

    Andrew

I have had a 5750WP (not sure if that is the part number for the WP version of the infrascan) installed in my garage for about the last 8 years. Works a treat - (even though now I also know when the garage door goes up and have a PAC lurking in the background) Don't worry about heat etc and false triggering as long as you have your PIR timer set to a few minutes or more the hot vehicle will only serve to de-sensitise your PIR for a little while ;)
The 5751L will be fine as well...

Or you could wire off the door remote receiver somehow and connect it to a bus coupler.
