HI, just wondering if anyone can help. Im wanting to program a PIR in an office so that when someone walks into the room they press the switch to turn the lights on (PIR doesnt turn lights on) and if they leave the room without switching the lights off the PIR will turn the lights off.

    any advice would be appreciated.

Assuming you're starting from the default unit configuraiton, go to the Key Functions tab of the UI. Change the items in the MD (Motion in Dark) column so that they match the existing items in the ML (Motion in Light) column, i.e. as you read down the MD column you need to have Retrigger Timer, Idle, Idle, Idle. Configure the timer duration as normal.

This configuration will mean that the PIR will wait for the group address to be turned on by someone, but as soon as it sees movement after this point in time, the timer will run.

Hi, many thanks for your help.

If I wanted to program the PIR so when someone walks into the office, the sensor turns the light on and then when someone leaves the office the lights will turn off after the programmed time period, what would the key functions tab be set up as?

Once again, your help would be appreciated.

PS: Is there a webpage with examples that explains how the differant key functions would operate the PIR?

This is the default configuration of the unit out of the box. The only adjustments you need to make are to the timer value (in Toolkit) and to the light level threshold (adjustment screw on the unit).
There's loads of info in the Toolkit help file, it's quite extensive.

Can I suggest you book yourself in for a basic C-Bus Training course. It covers a big spread of things you need to know about C-Bus and they give you a bunch of free kit to take away with you. Pretty much everyone I've spoken to says it's worth it.
