Thought it might be worth posting a screen grab from Wiser with the energy monitoring that was included in PICED V4.9

    Power usage meter

Very, very cool, have clipsal got a c-bus device I imagine that gets attached to the customers mains supply for this to function correctly. If so, easy to use? accurate? I am an electrician so install is not a concern, more the programming! But very impressive!

I also would be keen to know where it gets the data from?

Is there a C-Bus enabled version of the Centameter?

Gets it's data from Schneider EN40p inline meters (3 installed). These are class 1 meters that put out a pulse every 10 Watts consumed. Open collector input is connected into Aux input unit that pulses a group address for each meter.

Took me less than 5 minutes to program the three meters on Wiser.

Schneider EN40p (3 installed) is this because your install is 3 phase?

Ahh yes. So are you using multiple Power widgets for this to be displayed, this also means much more care needs to be taken when carrying out pre wire installation. Is there anymore info on this, how many of these units can you use? Does each one need a Aux input module to display on C-bus. Any further detailed info you can provide or suggest would be greatly appreciated
    regards

Thanks Brad... a good idea. I'll put together an app note and post.

Does the history remain if the Wiser power is cycled ?

Does the history remain when the Wiser is upgrade to the next version say 5.0 ??

Yes it does, but you will lose any data since the last save to flash disk.

    That is the intention.

When you update a Wiser project, the idea is to "refresh" the project from the unit. This transfers the power meter history from the Wiser back to PICED. You then make any changes to the project and transfer back to the Wiser again. The power meter history will be included in the transfer file.

That does look good. Serves as a reminder to me, I keep putting off getting the power company folks to come out and change my meters to output a pulse and hook it up to an input. I've got a second meter for the output from the solar panel inverter that would be fun to display as well. The serial data feed from the inverter displayed on a wall panel but not the 'incoming' power consumption and having both meters supply a pulse count would simplify things.

If you already have access to the serial data from that meter, you could connect a PAC (or similar) and broadcast the power measurements on C-Bus.

The widgets shown support either a pulse type power meter or an "analog" power meter which broadcasts the power level in Watts on the Measurement Application.

Could this also be used to track the level of a water tank over time - I have a pressure sensor connected to a General Input Unit which at the moment displays a % value in Wiser.

According to PICED, power meter pulses are limited to <1 per minute, yet an EN40 running at max 40A will be outputting around 1 pulse every 4 seconds. To keep in the 1 per minute limits you to 600wH which seems pretty low. Some clarification here from Clipsal would be useful.

Also, PICED mentions you can broadcast analog power on the measurement application in Watts, and yet the Metering Application protocol document states that the resolution (i.e. LSB) is 1000WH. Which one is correct?

Can you tell me where you read this? I can't find it.

PICED does raise a warning if the rate of pulses is more than one per second, but does not prevent you from doing this.

Both are correct. These are different applications.

What Darren is referring to here is the MEASUREMENT application. The metering application is different and not used for this.
